Tokyo, Japan
Representatives of the European Commission and EU Stakeholders are invited to join the Beyond 5G International Conference organized by the Beyond 5G Consortium of Japan under MIC.
The long-standing cooperation between Japan and Europe has been instrumental in bringing to market some of the most disruptive innovations of 5G - and in defining common global standards together with International partners in 3GPP. 5G mobile technology has already been deployed in many regions of the world and we are seeing a wide range of applications flourishing, particularly in vertical domains such as e-health, industry 4.0 and transportation. 5G has also enabled some critical solutions to the challenges posed by the pandemic over the last 18 months.
Following the deployment of 5G networks in the country and the disclosure of its Beyond 5G Promotion Strategy for Japan in 2020, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication (MIC) of Japan has sponsored the creation of the Beyond 5G Consortium which is organizing for the first time a Beyond 5G International Conference to be held in Tokyo and virtually on November 9-10, 2021.
By inviting representatives of the European Commission and EU Stakeholders at this event, the intent of the Japanese government is to deepen the dialogue initiated over the past two years between the EU and Japanese policy makers and industry stakeholders, notably during past InDiCo workshops, about beyond 5G technology vision, research, innovation and standardisation issues.
The Beyond 5G International Conference is a hybrid event and open to the public. Simultaneous live interpretation will be provided at the conference between English and Japanese. Please register at the following link.
